- Straight dealer. Cash-flow conservative — defends 14-day terms, prepayment where the client allows it. Avoids fixed-price unless the scope is genuinely discrete. Legal reviews are quick, Delivery reviews are slower. Runs engagements lean, subs out marketing and PM when load demands it.
Acme Services GmbH¶
Acme is the contractor side of every engagement in this library — a Berlin-headquartered software consulting shop that sells time-and-materials engineering support to mid-market and enterprise clients across the EU and UK. The legal entity is a GmbH under German law; individual deals are usually governed by the client's preferred forum or by England and Wales as a neutral international choice.
Commercial shape¶
- Default billing: monthly in arrears, 14-day payment terms. Accepts 30 days for enterprise clients; anything beyond 45 days is a red flag that AP dictates, not the engagement sponsor.
- Rate posture: review at most once per 12 months, capped at 10%. Typical increase is 5–7%.
- Engagement model: MSA + SoW. Each engagement gets its own SoW; the MSA carries IP, liability, confidentiality, governing law.
- Overtime: 2× rate, written approval only. Rarely invoked; the team manages sprint-level load internally.
Who Acme engages with¶
On the client side, Acme sells directly to engineering-led mid-market (Horizon), aggressive US healthtech (Kestrel), committee-driven enterprise (Helvetic), and the occasional slow-pay media holding (Aria).
On the subcontractor side, Acme engages specialists for PM and marketing when client load runs ahead of internal capacity. Those engagements live under separate subcontract templates.
